Default Cold Air Build

Right now, I'm plowing through Nightfall with my E/Mo, but I'm quite bored with it.
I figure this build will suffice for not only PvE, but also can be adapted toward PvP. I know fire is teh win for PvE, but I figured I'd give this build a shot.

[skill]Blinding Surge[/skill][skill]Chilling Winds[/skill][skill]Deep Freeze[/skill][skill]Maelstrom[/skill][skill]Lightning Touch[/skill][skill]Freezing Gust[/skill][skill]Ice Spikes[/skill][skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill]

Pretty self explanatory, I figure.
Right now I only have Nightfall so my skills are limited. Skill points are split between Water, Air, and Energy, with Water receiving 1 or 2 points higher than the rest. Also, the Lighting Touch is only used for enemies who wander around, and if I just so happen to get close to them, I can zap them.

Anywho, its completely open to criticism, let me know what you think.

The biggest problem with this build is that there is no energy mangement.

What about something like Master of Magic?
Or an Attunment Spell?
Blinding Surge and Ice Spikes can be swapped out for more energy management skills.

MoM is only really effective (to me) at high energy storage and when you're spamming skills.

I suppose you could do ele attune and bflash and still have energy. :/

or would something like [skill]Energy Tap[/skill] or [skill]Power Drain[/skill] work better?

Energy tap is a 3 second cast, which makes it a big no no for most non-mesmer builds. Power Drain is something better suited for a hero most of the time since they have computer perfect reflexes, but even then it can be unreliable since you must have an enemy casting a spell to have a chance at energy gain.

For some reason, I just can't give up on this idea.

[skill]Chilling Winds[/skill][skill]Deep Freeze[/skill][skill]Freezing Gust[/skill][skill]Lightning Strike[/skill][skill]Gale[/skill][skill]Water Attunement[/skill][skill]Elemental Attunement[/skill][skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill]

Basically, put up both Attunements, and make sure they stay up. Main theory behind the build is Chilling Winds to do damage and to increase freezing duration. Deep Freeze to damage and freeze, and then Freezing Gust to do the most damage. Lightning Strike is used if something goes wrong, since a low cast, quick recharging spell is needed, and it penetrates 25%. Gale is needed for one something goes really wrong. And thats about it.
What do we think?

Try the build on this site for mixing air and water skills

http://www.pvxwiki.com/wiki/Build:E/any_Chilling_Gust

Its for AB but u can modify it up for pve or normal pvp. For fitting res signet, u can get rid of an energy management GoLE or Air attunement. Gust + lightning orb is a good combo for spikes, mixing gust on monks then spiking their teammates. You can also try taking out air attunement for res signet, and switching blinding flash for blur vision, which has good synergy with gust knockdowns since u can aim at any target that got hit with the aoe.

Elemental Attunement is obviously right for that build. Blinding Surge isn't that much better than Blinding Flash anyway.

I find gale to be worthless skill when there is Shock. it does dmg and KD costing 5 less energy and faster casting time. It does have a 5 sec slower recharge but because or exhaustion you shouldnt be using it that much anyway.

the great thing is is that i dont put strain on them. the build does enough dmg that the rest of the party can kill them before i take too much dmg. its all about what u bring with you in your party.
